Stevie Wonder-3-819x1024In the year 1970, Stevie Wonder left MoTown and made two albums for himself. Berry Gordy was shocked to be informed of this by Stevie Wonder and Berry Gord was able to agree with Stevie Wonder's demands of greater independence and full creative control and the rights to all his songs. In 1972 Stevie Wonder returned to MoTown records and signed a thirteen million dollar deal with MoTown Records. The contract entitled Stevie Wonder to a higher royalty rate and more full creative control and the rights to his own music, that very few artists had in the previous years. Wonder's songs now could discuss controversial topics like war, poverty and drugs. The first album he had made under his new deal with MoTown was, Music Of My Mind in 1972. In late 1972 Stevie Wonder released an album which today is known as a historic piece in music, called Talking Book. It featured Superstition as the most popular song.
