Molly was born in Pennsylvania and started to perform professionally when she was a teenager in Philadelphia's Prince Music Theater. Her first production as a professional included The Snow Queen. After that, she portrayed Little Red Ridinghood in the Arden Theater s production of Into the Woods for which she was nominated for the Barrymore Award. She reprised the role when making her Broadway d but at the age 15 in the production of Into the Woods, on Broadway. She was also nominated for a Drama League Award.
